The school we have built in Nad-e-Ali Helmand is flourishing. 1700 students are attending in grades 1 through 12 including 550 girls in grades 1 through 6. The school comprises: 24 classrooms 2 teachers offices 2 storage rooms 1 canteen 32 latrines 2 computer labs 2 wells 1 library A school committee of 6 elders is responsible for overseeing the administration.  The school has been officially approved by Helmand province education… Read more

We are very excited that around 300 girls have started lessons at the Afghan Appeal Fund school in Nad-e-Ali, Helmand this September. A new school in Nad-e-Ali, Helmand funded by the Afghan Appeal Fund is starting to take shape.  Walls for all 24 classrooms have been built – the outer wall forming the perimeter wall for the school – a cultural requirement for Afghan schools, particularly in Helmand and especially where girls are taught – to protect their privacy and ensure security. The perimeter wall at the school in Nad-e-Ali district has been completed over Christmas and work has begun on the classrooms. There are over 1,000 children in the local area who will use this school and the Afghan Appeal Fund are delighted to be supporting this important project.
