Schools map

To date, the Afghan Appeal Fund has provided funds for eleven school builds or refurbishments in six provinces:

Kabul: tentage and equipment at school 1 with 1,500+ children; 8 classrooms refurbished at school 2 with 6,000+ children, 4 new classrooms and latrines at school 3 with 1,000+ children

Wardak: 1 new village school with 6 classrooms plus latrines for 300 girls – currently closed due to instability in the area

Bamiyan: 1 new village school with 6 classrooms, latrines and a well for 300 children, half girls

Nuristan: 1 new village school with 6 classrooms – currently closed due to severe fighting in the area

Helmand: 2 small village schools refurbished each with 100+ boys, 1 new temporary school with 10 classrooms while 1 new school build is in progress with 24 classrooms for 1,000+ children, boys and girls (taught separately)

Faryab: 1 new village school with 6 classrooms, latrines, chowkidar (security guard) for 300 children
