The school we have built in Nad-e-Ali Helmand is flourishing. 1700 students are attending in grades 1 through 12 including 550 girls in grades 1 through 6. The school comprises:

2 storage rooms
2 computer labs
A school committee of 6 elders is responsible for overseeing the administration. The school has been officially approved by Helmand province education department who are responsible for providing teachers and paying their salaries and for school maintenance costs. Over the Summer holidays, the school will be painted inside and out.
Subjects taught include maths, English, Dari, Pashto, biology, chemistry, physics, geography, art, handcraft and the study of the Qu’ran. The base curriculum is set by the Ministry of Education (MoE) who also provide text books for the students.
22 boys have just graduated from grade 12 – a large ceremony was held with visitors from all over the province.
