Pink Panthers LKG

On 15th June 2009, the Pink Panthers of Lashkar Gah (LKG) successfully broke the current World Record for the furthest distance run in 24 hrs by a team of 12 women. Location: Helmand Province, Afghanistan.

The ladies are from from the Headquarters of 19 Light Brigade (whose emblem is the Panther) and were at the time serving in Afghanistan, based in LKG. The team comprised female officers from the Royal Navy, Royal Air Force, and Army, as well as a ‘token’ (but very talented) civilian.  They managed to raise a superb £2500 for the Afghan Appeal Fund.

WELL DONE LADIES, FANTASTIC EFFORT!
