Medical Books

At the request of an Afghan professor working at Cheragh Medical Institute in Kabul, the Afghan Appeal Fund is collecting medical text books to send for the students.  The Institute is the first private medical university in Afghanistan and began taking  students ten months ago. 110 students, 58 of which are women have been enrolled in the first year. The website has not yet been translated into English, but can be found at http://www.cmi.edu.af/

“It is my utmost pleasure to thank you and Lady Caroline and your friends and colleagues for rallying on behalf of the young Afghan medical students. It is quite evident that the value of providing these books would go on far and produce a huge positive impact on the learning, skills and overall preparation of our future doctors. Please do accept my very heart-felt gratitude and appreciation for all of your kindness and efforts.
With best wishes, S”

Fast Facts - a publisher of medical text books - is kindly donating 5 copies of all their current titles. Many thanks to Sarah Redston and John Anderson. Thanks also to Prof Chris Bulstrode and Exeter University who have donated books.

If you would like to donate medical books, please email afghan_appeal@yahoo.co.uk with your details and titles of the books.
