School in Bamyan
In 2009 the Afghan Appeal Fund sponsored the construction of a primary school in Bamyan Province. Local builders are carrying out the work, and by the time Winter snow arrived at the end of last year, the full structure was standing - see photos below. Now Spring is on its way, the work can begin again - windows, doors, plastering, and painting.
Schooling is supported by the villagers and the locally elected Community Development Council. Establishing and running community based schools in remote and hard to reach areas is a part of the Afghanistan Ministry of Education’s (MoE) strategic plan and is mandated to NGOs.

Specific details of the school such as name and location are not made public due to potential security issues. We hope you understand.
